"The sound is pure, the vocal harmonies are delightful! Tasteful use of a real piano further enhances what is already a great sounding album. This is what made music of the 60's and 70's sound so good! Pick this one up because it's a real winner! "

"... Chris English weaves a lush sonic tapestry... If you enjoy highly textured baroque pop, you will love Chris English."

" . . . intelligent pop music that gives respects to (Brian) Wilson, Elvis
Costello, Tim Buckley and other song weavers..."

English's experience comes through... you can tell he has a handle on what makes for a good song.

it possesses an ambiance of an unhurried day around a picturesque town... For listeners who may be familiar with the unique vocal style of Steely Dan's Donald Fagen, English has a distinctive manner of phrasing and emphasizing the albums lyrics in his own soft, melodic singing voice.

...a hushed, breathy style that perfectly fits his highly textured, dreamy, mid-tempo musical landscape!

EXCELLENT!!!

Dreamtown" is a beautiful piece of work, and it is difficult to believe it is a debut record... Deeply textured, expertly performed, and intelligently crafted...

Love when I’m surprised by something that looks a bit ordinary and put it on and….at first, seems a bit ordinary and then within a few minutes, it clear that it’s all anything BUT ordinary. While Chris English’s music is something one would not classify as ‘power pop’(nothing wrong w/ that!), it’s serious music remdinding me Lindsey Buckingham(listen to song #3 below), Martin Newell, Tears For Fear, Alan Parsons, late 70s/early 80s Genesis and Steely Dan. Cool? You bet!

Who is Chris English? English has worked with David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, INXS, The Smithereens, Don Dixon, Marti Jones, The Psychedelic Furs, Don Was, T-Bone Burnett, Joe Strummer, Ziggy Marley and many others. The man has beena round and the quality of the work on “Dreamtown” is is Exhibit “A” in proving the delivery of an album well worth checking out. Two Big Thumbs Up on “Dreamtown”.

This is a good album!!! I love the way it starts out - "Sunrise" is a beautiful instrumental intro. Wonderfully dense production throughout, and I like the way the tracks are musically linked. Especially liking the chunky bass lines. Very atmospheric. This album should have a lot of appeal. The guitars give it a slight country edge, but the dense chords and production take it above and beyond, even on the simpler tunes. Vocally, he reminds me a little of my friend Dane Conover. Very sweet and soft at times.

I really like "Summer Revisited" and "The River" and "Autumn" reminds me of Alan Parsons...

Absolutely fantastic. I LOVE listening to it on my morning drives to school or to the gym. The music goes perfectly with the mood I'm in and the setting around me... I hope more people get to hear it. Definitley a good 'winter' time album as I like to call them. Good for a mellow evening at home ya know? Very nice
