SideBMusic was co-founded by Brian Battles and Jerry Boyd. In 2005, Battles, a graphic designer in San Diego, CA, and Boyd, a producer in Baton Rouge, LA, collaborated on the compilation CD "Two Steps Forward: A Tribute to Brian & Dennis Wilson." Their complementary skills and experience was an excellent match for producing and marketing music. Having grown weary of the general state of radio and the music industry, Boyd and Battles started an independent record label that would bring fresh, creative and meaningful music by previously undiscovered artists to an audience who shares the same feelings.
